Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) and Materials Research Society (MRS)

It is our pleasure to announce a special joint symposium between Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) and Materials Research Society (MRS) “High-Performance Computing and Electronic Structure Calculations in Materials Research”, which will be held in the beautiful city of Kyoto for two days during the 2013 JSAP Autumn meeting (9/16-20). The goal of the symposium is to bring together computational materials researchers to discuss recent developments in high-performance computing and electronic structure calculations and also to promote collegial interactions in this fast-growing community.

We bring together both distinguished and early/mid-career scientists to discuss current state-of-the-art research and future challenges in addressing various materials problems.
